Our clinical officer in Dunga, Kenya, Norman Ogando, often sees up to 50 patients in a day. They come in one, two, and sometime many per visit as families walk 5-7 km to see a doctor.
Norman checks each one out from head to toe, listens to their concerns, and then diagnoses and treats them. At many clinics in the region the patients then need to go to the pharmacy to buy their medications (just as in the US) further causing them financial hardship and time.
In our clinics, however, medications are provided for free on the spot and the patients get to return directly home.
In these photos, you can see Norman providing care to a few patients. Thank you for making this possible!
