As you can see from this picture we are very busy! The Humanity for Children clinic located in Rota, Kenya sees about 60 people per day. Children and parents come with all kinds of concerns, including dehydration, pneumonia, diarrhea and injuries. The medical care for all of these people was supported with your generous donations which together, paid for a full month of salary for our resident clinical officer.

Below is a picture of our clinical officer, Vincent Ochieng Owaa, helping out as an American volunteer sutures a child. Your contribution makes such a huge difference in the lives of so many. Thank you so much for your generosity.

Nsabimana was very sick and got treated for malaria

One of the children who benefited from your donation was Nsabimana in Gashanda, Rwanda. He had a very high fever and was anemic from malaria.  He received rehydration salts, tylenol, and anti malaria medication to make him feel better.  Your donation likely saved a life, Pradeep.

Ananias receives a checkup!

Ananias in Gashanda, Rwanda, came to the Humanity for Children clinic for a check up.  He is healthy, but received a course of anti-worm medication and vitamins.  This eradicated worms in his intestines and lets him grow strong.

Sonia is drinking again after being dehydrated.  Dehydration results in a weakened immune system that makes it harder for children to fight infection.

Adeline isn’t dehydrated anymore!

In the developed world, hydration can be taken for granted. But in the developing world, dehydration from simple illnesses like vomiting and diarrhea causes thousands of children under 5 to die every day.

Adeline had been vomiting for several days when she was brought to a Humanity for Children clinic in rural Rwanda for care.

She was diagnosed with dehydration and given zinc and rehydration salts.
